Two years ago, I was sitting in my own Upper East Side apartment with a friend who was introducing me to a singing sensation… Cait Doyle. From the moment I watched her sing “Starbucks” I knew she was someone worth watching. Two years later, you might compare me to Marvin Acme, who never missed a Jessica Rabbit performance.

Cait’s somewhat-irregular-monthly cabaret show featured original songs from the most amazing rising composers written especially for her. The show featured Adam Gwon’s “Running” to Gaby Alter’s “Union Square” and Drew Gasparini’s “Text Message Song” which has been viewed over 30,000 times on YouTube… These songs are amazing stand alone pieces, but Cait is now on a mission, a mission to produce a full blown musical… “The Hot Mess in Manhattan: The Musical” is set to debut in NYC this August… And it needs your help… Cait, along with Team Mess, have started a crowd funding page on RocketHub and are seeking tax deductible donations!

I’m including a video of another song written for the show that sums up the theme quite nicely… Carrie Bradshaw lied… big time!

If you are a believer in this message, I encourage you to take a moment and donate to this production… If every girl who believed they could grow up to be just like Carrie Bradshaw, but quickly realized what a lie it all was, donates just one dollar… Well, this show would certainly surpass it’s goal… And if you are unable to donate, maybe consider reporting this message, this video or even just the link to the campaign.
