This coming week I will be returning to Llanview, the fictitious setting of the daytime soap, One Life to Live. Back in 2005, I made my first appearance on the sudser saying quite possibly the best first time to ever be spoken on television! Check out the video!
This week marks my third visit to Llanview, and while it’s been quite a few years since I first appeared, I like to think I’ve been portraying the same character. The above clip shows me as a high school student in a flash back. Later on, I appeared in the following clip (http://tinyurl.com/3aaqwqb), clearly I became one of the town’s many alcoholics at Rodi’s.
Coming up this week, you’ll see that my character has clearly gotten his life together in Llanview, he’s got a decent job and who knows, maybe he’s even found a little romance… but you’ll have to wait and see when I pop up again if that’s true. In the meantime, be sure to tune into One Life to Live this week.

What a week!
Cloud 9 sometimes feels so far away and sometimes unattainable, yet this week, I think it is safe to say I know what it feels like.
It started following a rock star monologue coaching with Kate Pazakis who helped me with my new monologue from Southern Baptists Sissies written by Del Shores. It’s a brilliant piece and with Kate’s help we took it to a level I felt really comfortable with. All of this was in preparation for an upcoming audition for an Off-Broadway show. A week later, I had my two contrasting monologues ready to go and went into the audition feeling good. Sadly, my nerves started to get the best of me as I was called into the theater with nine others also auditioning to perform their comedic monologue. I watched the first few go and realized, “my goodness, what am I doing here? I went to school to be on film and television. Can I do theater?” They called my name and I walked on stage and gave it everything I had.
I don’t want to say it is like riding a bike, but once I walked on stage, I felt my actor muscles kick in and I felt so alive. In fact, I felt so alive, I remembered exactly why I moved to New York. I knew, at that moment, regardless of the outcome, I felt rejuvenated as an actor!
Well, it must have gone over well, I was asked, along with another auditioner to stay and perform our monologues again, in chairs, in a more conversational tone. I definitely felt my film and training take over, so I prayed that didn’t cost me in the end. Time would tell…
Friday, I was told by my friend Julie to check out the Progressive “Help Flo” contest. So following work on Friday, I headed down to see what was going on. Each “assistant hopeful” had 50 seconds to tell Flo why he or she would make a great assistant and end with the tag line “Now That’s Progressive.” Honestly, I had no idea what to say, as I was there basically on a whim. So when it was my time to go up, I spouted the first thing that came to mind. I’m keeping my video under wraps until it’s posted, but you’ll hopefully check it out and when time, vote for it!
I will say this, following the 50 second plea, I walked off the stage and was grabbed by a woman who was sitting in what was essentially “Simon Cowell’s seat.” She introduced herself as one of the casting directors and told me how fantastic she thought my submission was. Again, regardless of the outcome there, I feel great just having been through that fantastic experience!
Oh, and what prompted this entry, well, I received a phone call earlier tonight… it seems this Tuesday I have a call back for the off-broadway show I auditioned for last Thursday! It definitely was some week!
